The Information Room for Inclusive Education introduces international documents and papers on inclusive education, as well as Japanese laws and regulations and case studies. We also follow deinstitutionalization.

In the summer of 2022, the United Nations Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities told the Japanese government to deinstitutionalize and to realize inclusive education.

Deinstitutionalization means that people with disabilities live in the community with support. Inclusive education means that children with and without disabilities spend their time together in school with support.

To realize deinstitutionalization and inclusive education, we need to change laws, finances, the way we think in this country, and so on. This blog talks about the two policies.
